🚀 Hiring: Cloud Engineer (Azure)

We’re partnering with a forward-thinking UK organisation to find an experienced Cloud Engineer ready to lead the next stage of their cloud transformation journey.

This hybrid role offers flexibility to work from home and across UK offices — you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a secure, scalable, and future-ready Azure environment that supports the firm’s shift from legacy infrastructure to a cloud-first model.

☁️ What you’ll do

You’ll design, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade Azure infrastructure — from Landing Zones and networking to Entra ID, Conditional Access, and secure hybrid connectivity. Working closely with security, IT, and Microsoft partners, you’ll ensure the platform meets high standards of performance, compliance, and resilience.

You’ll also bring your expertise in automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell) to streamline deployments and maintain a robust, repeatable, and secure architecture.

💡 What you’ll work with

  • Azure services including Networking, WAF, Logic Apps, and Azure OpenAI
  • Microsoft Entra ID, PIM, Conditional Access & Private Access
  • Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, PowerShell, and Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Azure Monitor, Log Analytics & Application Insights
  • Secure-by-design and Zero Trust principles

🎯 What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience in Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Strong automation and IaC experience
  • Proven ability to design and optimise scalable, cost-efficient Azure platforms
  • Solid grasp of cloud security, identity management, and compliance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Azure certifications and a passion for continuous learning

🌐 Why this role?

You’ll be a key technical voice in a strategic cloud transformation — collaborating with Microsoft specialists and internal teams to deliver a modern, automated, and secure platform that supports real business change.

If you’re ready to take ownership of complex cloud challenges and help drive a true cloud-first journey — we’d love to hear from you!

How Many Cloud Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Cloud Job?

If you are aiming for a role in cloud computing, it can feel like the skills list never ends. One job advert asks for AWS, Terraform and Kubernetes. Another mentions Azure DevOps, PowerShell and ARM templates. A third throws in Docker, Python, Linux, CI/CD, monitoring tools and security frameworks. It is no surprise that many cloud job seekers feel overwhelmed before they even apply. Here is the reality most cloud hiring managers agree on: they are not hiring you because you know every cloud tool. They are hiring you because you understand cloud concepts, can design reliable systems, manage costs, keep things secure and support real workloads. Tools matter, but only when they support outcomes. So how many cloud computing tools do you actually need to know to get a job? For most roles, the answer is far fewer than you think. This article explains what employers really expect, which tools are essential, which are role-specific, and how to focus your learning so you look capable and employable rather than scattered.
