About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing technology function within a forward-thinking organisation. This role will play a pivotal part in designing, implementing, and maintaining a diverse cloud and on-premises infrastructure estate, contributing directly to the efficiency, reliability, security, and performance of critical services.

You will work as part of a collaborative infrastructure team, supporting both internal and external users, mentoring colleagues, and driving continuous improvement across cloud and infrastructure operations.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and optimise public cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, availability, and security.
  • Implement monitoring solutions, conduct performance analysis, and automate improvements where possible.
  • Ensure high availability and data integrity through proactive alerting, backups, and robust disaster recovery planning.
  • Own major incident response, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, implementing long-term fixes.
  • Maintain security best practice across cloud and on-premise environments, including vulnerability management and compliance monitoring.
  • Contribute to and sometimes lead the design and implementation of DR and business continuity plans.
  • Build and maintain automation scripts and configuration policies (IaC) to streamline and standardise operational tasks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers to deliver high-quality infrastructure services.
  • Provide quality 3rd-line support and act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Participate in the technical onboarding of partner organisations and support integration projects.
  • Maintain thorough documentation covering infrastructure, configurations, and operational processes.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Cloud/Infrastructure role.
  • Deep expertise with Windows Server 2016/2022, AD, Entra ID, Group Policy, and Windows security services.
  • Proven experience administering Microsoft 365 including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams and associated services.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and IIS administration.
  • Demonstrable capabilities across networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing, DHCP Snooping, Spanning Tree and LAG.
  • Hands-on background with firewall technologies and cyber security best practice.
  • Strong practical experience in Microsoft Azure, including VMs, VNETs, storage, identity, networking security, WAF/Azure Front Door, and cost management.
  • Skilled in managing MDM/MAM via Intune.
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation and MDR/EDR tooling.
  • High proficiency with Veeam for backup and recovery.
