ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a global technology consultancy delivering secure digital transformation programmes across the UK public sector. Their engineering teams design and operate modern cloud platforms that power critical government services used by millions of citizens every day. Due to continued growth across multiple national programmes, they are looking to hire experienced Lead Platform Engineers to join their expanding engineering capability.

THE LEAD PLATFORM ENGINEER ROLE

As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will work within agile engineering teams designing and building secure, scalable cloud platforms for major UK public sector organisations.

You will help deliver enterprise scale infrastructure platforms that enable development teams to build and deploy secure digital services.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Designing and improving cloud infrastructure platforms
  • Building Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Supporting container platforms using Kubernetes and Docker
  • Developing CI/CD pipelines to automate delivery and deployment
  • Improving platform monitoring, reliability and observability
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers across delivery teams

LEAD PLATFORM ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Strong AWS cloud platform engineering experience
  • Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform
  • Container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
  • Strong Linux engineering and scripting experience
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab or similar tools
  • Experience supporting large scale production cloud platforms
  • Ability to provide technical leadership within engineering teams

Candidates must be SC cleared or eligible to obtain SC clearance.
