IT Support Engineer – Portsmouth – Up to £50,000

Chapman Tate Associates is working with a growing Managed Service Provider in Portsmouth that is looking to add an experienced IT Support Engineer to its technical team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a multi‑customer environment and is confident supporting modern Microsoft, cloud and network technologies.

Role Overview

As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality support and project delivery across a wide range of customer environments. You will work on a mixture of BAU tasks, escalations, and infrastructure improvements, covering on‑premise and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support across customer systems.

* Support, maintain and configure Microsoft Windows Server and desktop environments.

* Administer and troubleshoot Azure, Microsoft 365, and other cloud services.

* Manage and support Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management.

* Assist with cloud migrations, onboarding, and infrastructure upgrade projects.

* Support networking environments including Aruba and Cisco equipment.

* Diagnose and resolve issues related to LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and general connectivity.

* Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to service improvements.

Required Experience

* Strong background in Windows Server and Microsoft desktop operating systems.

* Hands-on experience with Azure AD, Microsoft 365 administration, and cloud-based services.

* Solid understanding of Active Directory, GPO, user management, and security configurations.

* Exposure to cloud migrations or hybrid cloud environments.

* Experience with Aruba and Cisco networking technologies (switching, wireless, routing).

* Previous experience working for an MSP or in a multi-customer environment is highly desirable.

* Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to handle escalated technical issues.
