DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared)

Reading (Hybrid)

Permanent

to £85,000 (DOE)

DevOps Engineer needed with active SC Security Clearance for a permanent position based in Reading (Hybrid). Start ASAP in Spring 2026.

Hybrid Working – primarily working from home (WFH), with travel to the office a few times a month on average.

A chance to work with a leading global IT transformation business specialising in delivering large-scale Government digital modernisation projects.

Key skills, experience + duties to include:

DevOps Engineer with strong to diagnose and troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues.

Tech Environment: Strong with experience with continuous integration, automated deployment, testing and relevant tooling (Git/GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Linux, AWS EC2, S3 and EKS

Strong experience with AWS Cloud Solutions and services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS, API Gateway, ALB, API Gateway, Autoscaling etc

Strong knowledge in Infrastructure-as-code tools (such as Ansible, Terraform, etc.)

Experience in creating automation framework using Ansible

Understanding in one or two Scripting and programming languages (such as Python/Perl, Groovy, Shell Scripting, etc.)

Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration with Kubernetes (Ideally with EKS)

Experience in defining quality gates (integrating SonarQube Static Code analysis, running Regression suites, etc.) In the delivery pipeline

Agile development methods including: Scrum, TDD, BDD, Kanban.

Advantageous: Government / (url removed) / Public Sector experience, Containerisation (Docker / Kubernetes), AppDynamics, Angular, React, web apps, domain driven design
