Ncounter is supporting a specialist consultancy delivering into highly sensitive National Security programmes, now seeking an eDV Cleared DevOps Engineer to join a greenfield platform build.

This is a highly technical role blending software engineering and DevOps, with a focus on building secure, scalable systems while advising clients on engineering best practice.

You will design and optimise CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure, and contribute directly to backend development using Python or Java. Alongside delivery, you will act as a consultant, helping shape DevOps strategy and platform evolution within a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling

Develop backend services in Python or Java

Implement infrastructure as code across cloud environments (AWS preferred)

Enhance system reliability, scalability and performance

Advise stakeholders on DevOps strategy and engineering practices

What We’re Looking For

* Active eDV clearance is essential

* Strong software engineering experience in Python or Java

* Proven DevOps or platform engineering background

* Experience with AWS, containerisation and orchestration

* Strong knowledge of CI/CD and automation tooling

* Ability to operate in secure, high-assurance environments

This is a high-impact opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with strategic input on a critical programme. If you hold active eDV clearance and want to work on secure, cloud-native systems, we welcome a conversation
