Salary: £80,000 - £105,000 + Bonus

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to design, build, and optimise scalable cloud-native platforms on Google Cloud Platform. You will work within Agile teams to deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing systems, enabling rapid and reliable software delivery for a range of enterprise clients.

You will play a key role in implementing DevOps best practices, automation, and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on containerised and event-driven architectures. This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge GCP technologies while contributing to large-scale transformation programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.

Implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable deployments.

Work with containerised environments using Kubernetes and related technologies.

Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform.

Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and highly available.

Collaborate with development teams to support cloud-native application delivery.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance and reliability.

Apply DevOps best practices across the full software development lifecycle.

Skills & Experience

Strong experience working with Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Compute Engine.

Experience with networking and security concepts including VPCs, IAM, Service Perimeters, and Security Command Centre.

Knowledge of GCP data services such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, and Firestore.

Experience with API management tools such as Apigee, API Gateway, or API Endpoints.

Understanding of modern architectural patterns including microservices and event-driven systems.

Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.

Proficiency in scripting or development languages such as Python, Node.js, or Bash.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD and automation tools, including Cloud Build and Terraform.

Strong understanding of security best practices and building hardened, production-ready systems.

Exposure to additional cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is beneficial.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within Agile teams.
