A summary of the responsibilities of the post:

1. Overall responsibility for the design, delivery and optimisation of self-service cloud

infrastructure and tooling to ensure that our cloud applications and services are

secure, high performing and sustainable, and the delivery of a high quality user

experience for software engineers, suppliers and other users needing access to

cloud infrastructure.

2. Responsible for continued development and maintenance of our multi-cloud platform

(AWS and Google), recognised as a robust and mature cloud platform within the

public sector, as well as automating processes to improve efficiency.

3. Work with other senior members of the team responsible for enterprise architecture

to set and evolve cloud engineering target architecture and provide oversight and

assurance that the current architecture is implemented as per Hackney's

development, security and cloud standards.

4. Lead on the delivery, implementation and support of others to ensure that the

Council’s values and practices always meet our objectives for security, financial

prudence and transparency, inclusion and sustainability.

5. Actively support the work of a range of multidisciplinary teams, providing strategic

advice and guidance so that teams benefit from your core skills; promote the

generous sharing of expertise and create opportunities for continuous learning and

development.

6. Actively participate in development and enforcement of policies and procedures that

would underpin a robust and effective cloud platform. This would involve

participation in various governance groups such as Technical Design Authority and

Cyber Security governance groups.
