Premier Work Support are delighted to recruit for temporary Waste Ambassadors at a prestigious exhibition centre in London on an adhoc basis.

As a Waste Ambassador you are responsible for the processing of event and service partner waste in the venue. The Waste Ambassador plays a crucial role in maintaining environmental standards and operational efficiency by managing the collection, segregation, and disposal of various waste streams at designated facilities within the venue. This position demands high levels of responsibility, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to environmental conservation.

Responsibilities

Conduct scheduled, periodic waste collections, loading & unloading and clearance of all waste streams throughout the event spaces and wider venue to help ensure a clean and healthy environment for all.
Identify and rectify incidents of contamination to maximise recycling and notify relevant stakeholders to prevent re-occurrence.
Safely operate waste compaction & baling equipment, ensuring all operations comply with health and safety standards.
Actively consult with Organisers, Exhibitors and Contractors on waste management solutions and services available to them through the venue, upselling services where possible.
Proactively photograph and document waste from individual stands and/or areas of concern to then share with relevant stakeholders for discussion, charging or penalties as applicable.
Collaborate with all members of the Cleaning and Waste Management team to ensure that waste is always kept to a minimum, escalating any concerns in a timely manner.
Promote and support the principles of waste elimination, minimisation, and recycling principles.
Identify reusable items for potential donation, rather than disposal, to prevent waste.
Report any safety concerns or incidents related to waste management to prevent hazards.
Help supervise the movement of waste skips, bins, and other containers.
Attend training sessions to upskill on sustainable waste management practices.Essential Skills/Attributes

Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
High level of physical fitness and stamina for manual tasks due to heavy lifting.
Knowledge of waste management practices and equipment operation.
Environmentally conscious and proactive in meeting recycling requirements.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations pertinent to waste management.
Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to also complete tasks independently.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Responsibility for your own Health and safety and that of your colleagues and members of the public.Benefits we offer are:

Pension SchemeThe shifts are adhoc and hours will vary from show to show. But shifts will most likely be 12 hours long. Starting from 7am and finishing as late at 9pm.
