Solution Architect – Digital Transformation | £75k–£107k + Car Allowance + Bonus | Hybrid – UK-Wide (London/Belfast/Manchester/Bristol Preferred)

Good architecture is reasoning applied to complexity. It aligns intent with delivery and clarity with execution.

We’re hiring experienced Solution Architects who combine technical insight with architectural discipline — people who can reason through complexity, design systems that make sense, and guide them into delivery.

You’ll work on transformation programmes that redefine how major organisations operate — spanning digital platforms, payments, ERP, and integration at scale. The work is varied, the standards are high, and the results are visible.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing end-to-end solutions — from conceptual models to implementation design.

*

Producing clear, defensible architecture artefacts (HLDs, patterns, roadmaps) that guide delivery, not hinder it.

*

Leading RFPs and vendor assessments with technical and commercial judgement.

*

Partnering with engineering leads to ensure solutions are realised as intended.

*

Engaging confidently with stakeholders, translating technical reasoning into business value.

*

Applying structured architecture methods (TOGAF or equivalent) with pragmatism.

What You’ll Bring

*

Proven experience designing complex, multi-system digital or cloud environments.

*

Strong architectural judgement across business, application, data, and infrastructure domains.

*

Experience in retail, payments, ERP, or integration programmes (advantageous).

*

Coding literacy – not daily hands-on, but an understanding of how systems are built, integrated, and scaled.

*

Breadth across modern architecture stacks: cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), APIs, integration, CI/CD, and security.

*

Consultancy or client-facing background – able to present options and trade-offs with authority.

*

SC clearance eligibility – UK resident for 5+ years, British Citizen, ILR, or equivalent.

The Details

*

Location: Hybrid – London or Belfast preferred. Some on-site collaboration required.

*

Salary: £75k–£107k base + car allowance + bonus.

*

Clearance: SC-eligible only.

Why It’s Worth Your Time

This is architecture for those who enjoy reasoning across systems — not just designing them. You’ll join teams where logic, clarity, and delivery matter in equal measure, and where what you build genuinely shapes how the organisation runs.

If you value disciplined thinking, calm influence, and real-world impact, we’d like to hear from you

Why Cloud Computing Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

For many years, cloud computing careers in the UK meant roles for infrastructure specialists, system administrators, network engineers & software developers. Today, the picture looks very different. Cloud has become the backbone of digital transformation across industries — from healthcare to finance, education to government. With that reach comes new expectations. Cloud isn’t just about servers & storage anymore. It’s about handling sensitive data responsibly, meeting regulatory obligations, designing intuitive user experiences, communicating clearly with diverse stakeholders & understanding how people actually interact with complex digital systems. This means cloud careers are increasingly multidisciplinary, requiring expertise in law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design alongside technical skills. In this article, we’ll explore why cloud careers in the UK are broadening, how these five disciplines intersect with cloud work, what it means for job-seekers & employers, and how to future-proof your career in this fast-changing sector.

Cloud Computing Team Structures Explained: Who Does What in a Modern Cloud Department

Cloud computing has transformed how organisations in the UK and worldwide design, deliver, and maintain their IT infrastructure. Whether it’s migrating on-premise workloads to the cloud, building cloud-native applications, or optimising for cost, performance, and security — organisations of all sizes need cloud teams with clearly defined roles. For someone applying for cloud computing jobs, or hiring for them, knowing who does what in a modern cloud department gives you an edge. This article describes the core roles you’ll find in a mature cloud team, how these roles work together through the cloud lifecycle, what skills UK employers tend to expect, typical career paths and salaries, plus the challenges of structuring cloud computing teams.
