Junior Site Reliability Engineer
Location: Hybrid - Cambridge, UK
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience) + Benefits

Job Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Junior / Graduate Site Reliability Engineer to join our award-winning software house in Cambridge. This role is ideal for someone with around a year of industry experience or a relevant internship, and could suit a recent graduate with a Computer Science or related degree looking to build a career in SRE and DevOps.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Problem Solver: Enjoys operating in an ever-changing landscape
  • Educational Background:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or a related field
  • From a top university (e.g., Russell Group or globally ranked institution)
  • Achieved a 2:1 or above, ideally with high-level academic marks or distinction
  • Experience: Around 1 year of industry experience or a year-long internship in a DevOps, SRE, or technical support role

    Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of operating systems and IT infrastructure
  • Familiarity with alerting and monitoring tools
  • Exposure to automation, open source technologies, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
  • Interest in web-based applications, Elasticsearch, and Node.js
  • Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to stay composed under pressure
  • Relocation: Willingness to relocate to the Cambridge area if not already local

    Role Responsibilities:

  • Support incident management and system reliability
  • Assist with IT security services and automation tasks
  • Collaborate with engineers to maintain and improve system performance
  • Learn and grow within a dynamic and supportive team environment
