We are supporting aleading global technology consultancy in recruiting an experiencedSenior Java Engineer to work on large-scale payment platforms for major banking clients.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strongJava and payments expertise, with particular emphasis on theICON IPF Payments framework and modern cloud-based architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop large-scale, enterprisepayment systems
• Build backend services usingJava 11, Spring Boot and Microservices
• Work hands-on with theICON IPF Payments framework
• Develop and deploy solutions withinAWS cloud environments
• Build event-driven solutions usingApache Kafka
• Work withISO 20022 payment standards, schemes and message types
• Collaborate directly with major banking clients
• Contribute across design, development, integration and delivery
• Translate complex technical requirements into scalable solutions
• Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience Required

• Strong commercialJava engineering experience
• Extensive experience withJava 11 & Spring Boot
• Strong Microservices architecture experience
• Hands-onICON IPF / IPF Payments experience
• Strong understanding ofISO 20022 Payments
• Experience withinBanking / Financial Services
• AWS cloud experience
• Apache Kafka and asynchronous messaging
• Experience delivering complex enterprise payment solutions
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder communication skills

Highly Desirable

• 18+ months' ICON platform experience
• IPF Certification
• Experience delivering payment transformation programmes for major banks
