Network Engineer 

Our successful and growing client, based in Sheffield, is seeking to recruit a talented Network Engineer to play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing their global IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will focus on optimising network performance, driving standardisation across sites, and implementing advanced security measures.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide second and third-line support for network-related issues, ensuring swift resolution and conducting thorough root-cause analysis.

Assist in designing, configuring, and managing a Cisco-focused network environment, alongside cloud infrastructure such as Azure and AWS.

Implement and maintain security and SD-WAN solutions using Fortinet technologies to improve both security and efficiency.

Deploy and manage cloud security tools, enhancing internet protection and threat detection.

Monitor network and cloud systems to identify performance improvements, delivering detailed reports with actionable insights.

Document network configurations, updates, and incidents to maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Stay informed on the latest networking and cloud technologies developments, collaborating across IT teams to drive infrastructure projects.

Occasional travel to other offices to support onsite tasks such as equipment setup and configuration.

Essential Skills:

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and resolve complex networking challenges.

Proven experience in a similar role, supporting and optimising network systems.

Cisco Certification (minimum CCNA) with practical expertise in Cisco technologies.

Hands-on experience with Fortinet security solutions and SD-WAN configuration.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

A valid UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of cloud platforms, including Azure and AWS.

Familiarity with tools such as Zscaler, Cisco Meraki, and network monitoring software.

Additional qualifications, such as ITIL or similar certifications.
