Our client is on the lookout for a talented Network Automation Engineer who is passionate about transforming network architecture into streamlined automated solutions. Role: Network Automation Engineer

Duration: 6 Months (extension options)

Location: Remote (must be prepared to travel to Bristol a few times a month)

Rate: Competative (umbrella)

What You'll Be Doing:

As a key player in our team, you will:

Automated Provisioning:Design and implement sophisticated Ansible roles and playbooks, harnessing the power of Jinja2 templates to automate the lifecycle of Cisco and Fortinet devices.
Infrastructure as Code:Maintain the network's "Source of Truth" using NetBox, ensuring all physical and logical assets are accurately modelled and easily accessible programmatically.
Custom Tooling:Develop innovative Python scripts and custom integrations to seamlessly connect platforms, utilizing REST APIs, Netconf, and modern authentication protocols.
CI/CD & Governance:Build and maintain robust NetDevOps pipelines using GitLab and GitHub Actions to validate, test, and deploy network changes efficiently.
Multi-Platform Integration:Automate networking layers of the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platform, collaborating closely with compute and storage teams via VCF APIs.
Day 2 Support:Implement automated "drift detection" to catch manual changes and create self-healing workflows that minimize Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) for common incidents.Technical Skills We're Looking For:

Automation Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Ansible (Roles, Playbooks, Jinja2) and Python for network automation tasks.
Data Centre Fabric Expertise: Strong experience with Cisco NDFC/NX-OS and Fortinet FortiGate firewalls.
Ecosystem Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with NetBox as a Source of Truth and Git for version control.
NetDevOps Experience: Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and automation workflows.
Virtualization Know-How: Experience with VMware VCF APIs or NSX-T automation.Bonus Points For:

Terraform: Familiarity with Terraform for orchestrating provider-based infrastructure.
Certifications:Cisco Certified DevNet Associate/Professional or equivalent.
