Job Title: Manual Test Engineer – Network Testing (SD-WAN)

Location: Wokingham OR Warwick (Onsite)

Contract Type: Contract (6 months)

Rate: £415 per day (Inside IR35)

Clearance: SC eligible (required)

Overview

We are supporting a major global technology organisation on a large-scale enterprise network transformation programme. We are seeking experienced Manual Test Engineers with strong network testing expertise to validate complex SD-WAN and enterprise network environments.

This role is fully onsite, with positions available in Wokingham and Warwick.

Key Responsibilities

SD-WAN Testing

* Validate overlay/underlay connectivity and SD-WAN policies

* Test application-aware routing, traffic steering, and SLA performance

* Verify routing protocols (BGP/OSPF) between SD-WAN and core networks

* Execute failover/failback and resilience testing scenarios

* Validate segmentation (VRFs), zoning, and security policies

Enterprise Network Testing

* Perform LAN/WAN validation (DHCP, DNS, NAT, ACLs, QoS)

* Test Wi-Fi networks (802.1X, RADIUS, roaming, RF performance)

* Validate VPN connectivity (site-to-site & remote access)

* Measure network performance (latency, jitter, throughput, packet loss)

* Analyse packet captures and logs for troubleshooting

Test Management

* Create and execute test plans, cases, and traceability matrices

* Perform functional, regression, and integration testing

* Log and track defects with clear supporting evidence

* Produce status reports and Go/No-Go recommendations

Governance & Security

* Ensure compliance with secure environments and SC standards

* Support CAB processes and change validation

Required Skills & Experience

* 3–7 years in manual testing with network focus

* Strong SD-WAN experience (Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, Prisma, Silver Peak)

* Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, NAT, QoS)

* Experience with Wi-Fi, VPNs, and network segmentation

* Hands-on with tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, traceroute

* Familiarity with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or ALM

Clearance Requirements

Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance, typically requiring:

* 5 years continuous UK residency

* Clean criminal and financial record
