Cybersecurity Lead Software & DevOps Engineer

* Sheffield (3 days per week onsite)

* Inside IR35

We’re working with a leading financial services client to hire a Cybersecurity Lead Software & DevOps Engineer to drive the design and delivery of enterprise-wide security solutions across a complex technology landscape.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone operating at a Lead Engineer / Team Lead level, with proven experience managing and mentoring small teams of engineers while remaining close to architecture and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and deliver end-to-end security solutions across cloud and on-prem environments

* Build and scale secure platforms, frameworks, and reusable security patterns

* Lead key initiatives across IAM, CI/CD security, secrets management, and supply chain security

* Implement robust secrets and key management solutions (e.g. HashiCorp Vault, cloud-native tools)

* Partner with engineering and platform teams to close security gaps and guide implementation

* Own delivery of new security environments and capabilities, from concept through to adoption

* Lead and manage a small team of engineers, setting direction, priorities, and ensuring delivery

* Engage senior stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide adoption of security best practices

Key Requirements

* Proven experience in security engineering, DevSecOps, and security architecture

* Strong hands-on background with the ability to design and implement solutions

* Demonstrated experience leading or managing small engineering teams (Team Lead / Lead Engineer level)

* Expertise across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on-prem environments

* Strong knowledge of CI/CD security, IAM, secrets management, and supply chain security

* Experience with HashiCorp Vault or similar technologies

* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable

* Cloud certifications (e.g. AWS Professional, Architecture or DevOps track)

* Experience operating within large, regulated environments

This is a key opportunity to take ownership of security engineering strategy and delivery, while leading a team and driving secure-by-design practices across a large-scale enterprise environment
