Infrastructure Engineer

Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer (Contract)
Location: Hybrid (with occasional travel to Manchester or London for key meetings)
Duration: 3-6 Months initial

Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise environment within Central Government. This is a hybrid role, with occasional travel required for key meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage infrastructure-as-code solutions in cloud-native environments.
Collaborate closely with software engineers and stakeholders to deliver robust infrastructure solutions.
Ensure performance monitoring and governance across large-scale systems.
Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance using GitLab.

Essential Experience:

Proven experience working within Central Government environments.
Background in managing infrastructure for large enterprise estates.
Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and cloud-native technologies.Hands-on experience with:

Terraform
Kubernetes (EKS)
CI/CD tooling (GitLab)
Familiarity with performance monitoring and governance in complex environments.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
