We are a successful and independent waste management and recycling company, currently seeking an experienced Transport Controller to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced depot that handles over 500 collections per day, utilising a diverse in-house fleet of Dustcarts, RoRos, Skips, and other commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:



Plan, route, and schedule vehicle movements to maximise efficiency and profitability.

Upload all collection data from PDAs to the central database accurately and on time.

*

Debrief drivers at the end of their shifts, ensuring all job and vehicle-related information is recorded.

*

Upload and manage driver tachograph data in line with compliance standards.

*

Monitor and record stock levels of containers held in storage.

*

Liaise with the Sales and Account Management teams to ensure operational needs are met.

*

Communicate with customers in the event of service delays or disruptions.

*

Log and track all driver defects, ensuring necessary action is taken swiftly.

*

Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.

*

Prepare and dispatch containers for delivery from the Storage Yard.

*

Accurately book jobs onto the system and ensure scheduling is up to date.

*

Build and maintain positive relationships with third-party contractors, especially during peak periods or for specialist services.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Proven experience in a similar transport or logistics coordination role, ideally within the waste or recycling sector.

*

Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-moving environment.

*

Confident communicator, capable of liaising across teams and with customers.

*

Ability to remain calm under pressure and take initiative to solve problems quickly.

*

IT literate, with experience using routing or transport management systems.

*

A focus on cost efficiency, safety, and delivering a high-quality service.
