Location: Calne, Wiltshire

Salary: £35,747 Per Annum + Benefits

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Transport Supervisor on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure the Company’s compliance with the Road Traffic Act and Environmental Protection Act.
Route vehicles efficiently to minimise dead mileage.
Monitor drivers' work performance to ensure maximum productivity.
Complete production report forms for drivers falling below productivity targets.
Check and file driver tachograph cards in compliance with legal requirements.
Issue sales prices based on specified lists in response to telephone enquiries.
Action and resolve invoice disputes.
Receive and execute customer orders; record and allocate orders to vehicles.
Ensure all missed loads/collections are prioritised for the next working day.
Motivate the workforce and maintain high morale.
Comply with the Company’s credit control procedures and maintain customer stop lists.
Ensure vehicles and company premises are kept clean and tidy.
Monitor and enforce driver compliance with the vehicle defect reporting procedure.
Monitor stocks of waste containers and ensure availability for new contracts.
Recommend improvements to working practices and procedures.
Check the accuracy and standard of documents returned from drivers.
Ensure sales documentation is correctly completed and batched prior to system input.
Liaise with workshops to ensure drivers have sufficient time to clean vehicles before scheduled services.
Prepare costing schedules to achieve the most economical disposal of wastes at landfill sites.
Skills and Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of the Road Traffic Act and Environmental Protection Act.
Previous experience in transport logistics, waste management, or operations coordination is desirable.
Ability to route vehicles efficiently and monitor driver performance effectively.
Excellent organisational, administrative, and documentation skills.
Team leadership skills and the ability to maintain high morale.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Customer-focused with strong communication skills.
Knowledge of tachograph compliance and vehicle maintenance processes.
IT literate.
Previous supervisory experience is highly beneficial.
