Tech Lead (Typescript) – Bristol (Remote) - £75k

Remote Work | Flexible Hours | Node/Nest.js & React/Next.js | Serverless Architecture | Greenfield Projects

Ada Meher are engaged exclusively with a tech consultancy in Bristol as they search for a hands-on Technical Lead to join them working on a variety of greenfield client project deliveries. The role will still involve plenty of hands-on coding on complex features, as well as technical leadership driving the standards of development and delivery for a small project team of 2-3 developers.

The tech stack is centred around Typescript, with Node & Nest.js on the backend and React/Next.js frontend with a serverless Azure deployed architecture. So, whilst there is no issue with candidates coming from an AWS/GCP background excellent Typescript skills are a must.

As a flexible working business employees work remotely 99% of the time and will get together in their offices, based in Bristol, on an ad hoc basis (around once a quarter) so candidates should be either local to the South West or happy to travel. They have the same sort of approach to flexibility in working hours, allowing candidates the autonomy to deliver their work whilst also working around life’s other commitments.

To Be Considered…

Expert level skills in Typescript development
Strong Node.js & React.js experience
Experience with Nest.js & Next.js
Excellent approach to best practice (including testing with Jest/Playwright or similar)
Experience with Cloud Computing (Azure/GCP/AWS) and serverless architecture
CI/CD experience would be a bonus
The business has an excellent reputation for the quality of the software that they produce and are looking for a like-minded individual who will benefit from an environment where they have the autonomy to drive such standards on greenfield projects they can really take ownership of.

If that sounds like you, then please get in touch or send a CV to (url removed) ASAP for consideration

How Many Cloud Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Cloud Job?

If you are aiming for a role in cloud computing, it can feel like the skills list never ends. One job advert asks for AWS, Terraform and Kubernetes. Another mentions Azure DevOps, PowerShell and ARM templates. A third throws in Docker, Python, Linux, CI/CD, monitoring tools and security frameworks. It is no surprise that many cloud job seekers feel overwhelmed before they even apply. Here is the reality most cloud hiring managers agree on: they are not hiring you because you know every cloud tool. They are hiring you because you understand cloud concepts, can design reliable systems, manage costs, keep things secure and support real workloads. Tools matter, but only when they support outcomes. So how many cloud computing tools do you actually need to know to get a job? For most roles, the answer is far fewer than you think. This article explains what employers really expect, which tools are essential, which are role-specific, and how to focus your learning so you look capable and employable rather than scattered.
