Job Title: Operator
Job Type: Permanent Staff
Start Date: As soon as possible (subject to clearance)
Benefits Package: £75 Travel & Subsistence can be claimed per day by any ASWs travelling outside commuting distance to the Dounreay site

Location: Thurso, Scotland
Working Arrangement: Full Site-Based (with potential for flexible working where applicable)
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week (7.4-hour days) / Occasional overtime may be required

Role & Responsibilities:
Operate heavy plant machinery, including forklift trucks (up to 48Te), telehandlers, tractors, and trailers.

Undertake Terberg Shuntmaster training as required.

Conduct routine and non-routine vehicle activities, including pre-use inspections and defect reporting.

Transport waste and project equipment on and off-site in support of decommissioning activities.

Prepare and distribute approved waste containers and packages to project sites.

Perform operational monitoring and routine plant, fire, and emergency checks.

Qualifications/Experience Required:
Essential: Valid forklift truck (or similar plant) license.

Highly Regulated Industry Experience: Nuclear, industrial, or logistics experience preferred.

Minimum Experience: At least 2 years in a similar operational role.

Training: Willingness to undergo additional site-specific training (e.g., Terberg Shuntmaster).

UK National Security Vetting Status:
Security Clearance Required: SC (must be eligible or willing to obtain).
