    Who are the client?
    Our client is a trusted UK-based technology company with a strong presence in the communications sector. They specialise in providing secure network solutions across enterprise environments. Known for their technical excellence, collaborative culture, and commitment to innovation, they offer long-term career development within a high-integrity engineering environment.

    What will you be doing?
    This is a senior hands-on role supporting both internal and customer networks. You'll be responsible for network design, configuration, security, and troubleshooting across a broad set of technologies and sectors. You'll also act as a point of escalation and provide technical leadership across engineering and IT teams.
    Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing, building, testing and commissioning secure internal and external networks
  • Providing third-line support and escalation for complex networking issues
  • Leading Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer) and Cisco (Routers/Switches) deployments
  • Ensuring network integrity and security across multiple domains
  • Producing and maintaining detailed documentation including schematics and support guides
  • Participating in out-of-hours and weekend support rota

    What will you need?
  • Minimum 5 years' experience designing and supporting multi-site, secure networks
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent (e.g., FCSS/FCP)
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Fortinet FortiGate Firewalls (FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
  • Cisco Routers (29xx, 83xx, 4xxx, IOS-XE)
  • Cisco Switches (29xx, 93xx)
  • VPN, IP SLA, BGP, OSPF, IPSEC, VOIP QoS
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
  • Excellent customer support and communication abilities
  • Organised, proactive, and solution-focused attitude

    What would be desirable?
  • Experience with MPLS, 802.1x, Multicast
  • Skills in Linux, Docker, and Python scripting

    Certifications (any of the following highly desirable):
  • CCNA / CCNP
  • Fortinet NSE certifications
  • Other industry-recognised security/networking qualifications
