The CPS Group are urgently looking for a Financial Services Contract Project Manager for 6 months to be based onsite in Cardiff for two days per week on a position which is inside IR35.
The Project manager will form part of the IT PMO Project Management team delivering technical projects based around application and infrastructure services across IT and Business Change. The Project Manager will be assigned projects and to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
The Project Manager will adhere to the PPMO framework, collaborating closely with the Portfolio Management team to manage risks, issues, and dependencies.

The Project Manager will work primarily on technical projects and these projects will include a heavy focus on

  • IT Infrastructure, Networks & EUC
  • Cyber Security
  • Cloud Infrastructure - MS Azure
  • Service Management

    In this position the key responsibilities of the candidate will be:
  • To oversee and manage the delivery of IT projects.
  • Developing detailed project plans that outline the scope, timeline, budget, and resources required.
  • Ensure projects comply with the framework.
  • Collaborate closely with the ITS technical teams, covering design, implementation and operational support
  • Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Management team.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Report project status and progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Resource forecasting, Budget Forecasting reporting and management

  • Risk, issue and dependency management.
  • Ability to convert technical details into summarised view

    Proficient at managing time and resources

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to convert technical details into meaningful,
    o Business ideas,
    o High level and detailed project plans,
    o communication schedules,
    o test plans
    o process improvements

    The suitable Project Manager will need:

  • Knowledge of project management frameworks and best practices including waterfall and agile
  • Good experience of managing projects through all phases of the project lifecycle from business case production to operational hand over into support
  • Good knowledge and experience of creating operational process and process flow documents to support project implementation and delivery.
  • Good understanding in using popular project management tools such as MS Project, Asana, Kanban boards.
  • Good experience in the use of collaboration tools such as MS Teams and SharePoint
  • Experience with cloud technologies and tools such as Confluence and Azure Devops
