Import/ Export Clerk–Join P&O Ferrymastersand work as part of a dedicated Customs team in our office in Dover, Kenton a full-time permanent basis. 

Your role: 

As our Import/ Export Clerk, you will be delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. From managing customs declarations and ensuring that every shipment runs smoothly.  

Key responsibilities: 

Ensure timely processing of customs declarations and promptly address any queries from clients. 

Record and review customs declaration requests, maintainingaccurate and up-to-date information in our systems. 

Keep track of duties paid by P&O Ferrymasters, ensuring recovery from clients where necessary. 

Liaise effectively with clients to understand and fulfill their customs declaration needs. 

Share critical information with carriers to guarantee seamless delivery and avoid delays. 

Collaborate with the Customs Declarations Manager to achieve team objectives and maintain service excellence. 

About you: 

We are on the lookout for an experienced Import/ Export Clerk with a strong background in import and export declaration processes. Your experience with Customs Declaration Service (CDS), Destin8, and CNS (Compass) will be invaluable. You possess excellent organisational skills and can manage your workload efficiently, while your attention to detail ensures accuracy in dealing with intricate information. Strong communication skills as well as ability to influence, collaborate effectively along with flexibility to work shifts and cover some bank holidays is also essential.If you are multilingual, that would be a bonus!

We offer: 

A salary of £25,000 - £28,000 per annum (depending on experience), working full-time, Monday to Friday, with a rotating Saturday shift (one week in three or four). Shifts run from 0700hrs to 1500hrs and 0900hrs to 1700hrs. After working a Saturday, you will enjoy a day off in the following week. Other benefits include Company pension, P&O Ferries travel concessions, and an Employee Assistance Scheme, backed by a wellbeing programme along with opportunities for personal and professional training and development. We also offer a benefits platform including a range of voluntary health insurances, cycle to work, and retail discounts.
