DevOps Lead (IaC Automation) Manchester/Hybrid - Outside IR35

I'm on the hunt for a cracking DevOps Lead to support a large-scale Workspaces IaC Automation project, driving the design and delivery of automated cloud infrastructure pipelines across AWS and Azure.

My client operates a complex multi-cloud environment and is expanding its DevOps capability to standardise and automate infrastructure provisioning across multiple digital workspaces and services

Joining at initial discovery stage, you will then lead key workstreams to assess and enhance existing DevOps practices, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines, and enable internal teams to adopt sustainable DevOps ways of working.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated IaC pipelines and repositories.

Assess current DevOps maturity, toolchains, and automation opportunities.

Develop reusable modules using Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates.

Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline.

Integrate configuration management (Ansible) and monitoring solutions.

Produce detailed documentation and deliver knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Solid DevOps/Cloud Engineering across AWS & Azure.

Strong IaC and CI/CD expertise (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Ansible).

Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, and infrastructure patterns.

Experience in agile, product-aligned environments (Jira preferred).

Excellent stakeholder engagement and mentoring capability.

This is an Outside IR35 Contract working on a project for an extremely prestigious client - 3 months (initial term, with extension potential)
