Company
A well-established and growing professional services organisation is seeking to enhance its digital presence as part of an ambitious growth strategy. With a strong focus on client experience and business development, the company invests heavily in its marketing function and digital platforms to drive engagement, improve conversion, and support long-term success.
The business offers a collaborative working environment where cross-functional teams work closely together. It combines the stability of an established organisation with the mindset of continuous improvement and innovation, particularly across its digital channels.

Role
This is a hands-on Digital Web Developer position, embedded within a marketing team and focused on the development, optimisation, and ongoing enhancement of public-facing websites.
You will work closely with a key marketing stakeholder to deliver improvements, build new functionality, and ensure websites align with broader strategic goals. The role is highly delivery-focused, with responsibility for taking ownership of development tasks from concept through to implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and enhancing WordPress-based websites, with a strong emphasis on performance, scalability, and SEO
  • Supporting the delivery of a defined SEO strategy to drive traffic and improve client conversion
  • Building responsive, high-quality web pages using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Collaborating with marketing stakeholders to translate requirements into effective web solutions
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and proactively recommending enhancements
  • Ensuring websites are optimised for speed, usability, and mobile performance
  • Contributing to ongoing innovation and continuous improvement initiatives

The role is predominantly WordPress-focused, working closely with the marketing team, with some interaction with internal IT functions where required.

This is an office-based role, requiring attendance 4–5 days per week to enable close collaboration with the marketing team and wider business stakeholders. Salary is up to £35,000.
Person
We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware Web Developer who enjoys working in a collaborative, marketing-led environment.
You will bring:
  • Strong experience with WordPress and PHP
  • Solid skills in core front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Proven understanding of SEO principles and how they influence web development
  • Awareness of software engineering best practices, version control (e.g. Git), and CI/CD concepts
  • Exposure to cloud-based or modern infrastructure environments (desirable but not essential)

In addition, you will:

  • Have a proactive mindset, with the ability to identify improvements rather than simply react to briefs
  • Understand the broader marketing context, including user experience, web traffic and conversion
  • Be comfortable working closely with non-technical stakeholders
  • Take ownership of your work and demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Be collaborative, communicative, and keen to continuously learn and improve

This role would suit someone at an early-to-mid stage of their career who is looking to develop their skills in a supportive but fast-paced environment, while having a real impact on visible digital platforms
