Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Vice President to lead a high-profile Credit Risk Technology function responsible for the strategic development, architecture, and delivery of an enterprise-wide Credit Risk Analytics platform.

This role is ideal for an experienced technology leader with deep expertise in Counterparty Credit Risk, PFE analytics, derivatives pricing, and cloud-based risk systems. You will be responsible for driving the technology roadmap, leading globally distributed teams, and delivering innovative solutions that support evolving business and regulatory requirements.

This is a highly visible leadership position offering the opportunity to shape the future direction of a critical risk platform while managing large-scale technology transformation programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Define and own the strategic architecture and roadmap for the Credit Risk Analytics platform.

Lead and manage globally distributed teams across onshore, nearshore, and offshore locations.

Deliver complex risk technology programmes, ensuring successful execution against budget, timelines, and objectives.

Act as the senior technology SME for Credit Risk analytics and regulatory initiatives.

Drive platform modernisation through cloud-native technologies, distributed computing, and AI-led innovation.

Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Risk, Front Office, Quantitative Analytics, Technology, and Operations.

Ensure strong governance, transparency, and communication around delivery status, risks, and dependencies.

Oversee resource planning, budgeting, vendor management, and workforce strategy.

Develop and maintain a high-performance engineering culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Lead hiring, mentoring, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.

Ensure system resilience, audit compliance, security standards, and operational excellence.

Represent the function within senior governance forums, steering committees, and strategic transformation programmes.Required Experience

Essential

Proven leadership experience delivering Credit Risk or Counterparty Credit Risk technology solutions within financial services.

Hands-on experience implementing Potential Future Exposure (PFE) analytical solutions.

Strong understanding of: Counterparty Credit Risk, Collateral and Netting, Market Data within Credit Risk pricing, Regulatory-driven risk change initiatives

Solid knowledge of pricing and risk management across: Derivatives, Mortgage-Backed Securities, Repos, Stock Borrow & Lending, Agency Lending

Experience managing geographically dispersed technology teams.

Strong stakeholder management, vendor management, and programme delivery expertise.

Demonstrable experience managing large-scale enterprise platforms from data capture through to pricing and reporting.Technical Skills

Essential

Expert-level C# and .NET Core development experience

Strong SQL Server development and database expertise

Python development experience

Experience with distributed computing and large-scale risk platforms

Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and system design

Experience with GitHub, TeamCity, Jira, Visual Studio, PowerShell, and modern SDLC practices

Ability to produce high-quality technical design documentation and test plans

Strong understanding of securities products including bonds and equities

Experience leveraging AI and Agentic AI solutions within software engineering environmentsDesirable

Experience with cloud-based risk platforms and pricing engines

Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

Azure Data Lake

Microservices and event-driven architectures

Kafka, Redis, Spark, HBase, and HDFS

Market Risk platforms covering VaR, Stress Testing, and FRTB

Risk exposure reconciliation and reporting platforms

£120,000 - £140,000 base salary
