The Sports Business Development Specialist will serve as a dedicated sports industry expert working across global account teams and alongside fellow industry specialists. This role drives cloud adoption by identifying and developing line-of-business opportunities across sports organizations, leagues, federations, and technology providers worldwide. The ideal candidate brings deep sports industry expertise, a builder mindset, and the ability to engage C-suite stakeholders with credible, outcome-driven conversations — while thriving in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Business Skills:
- Strategic account planning and executive relationship building across global markets
- Ability to articulate business value and ROI for cloud solutions in a sports context
- Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional and cross-regional teams
- Experience with partner ecosystem development and co-selling
- Excellent presentation and communication skills for both technical and business audiences

Cloud Knowledge:
- Understanding of core cloud services relevant to sports workloads (compute, storage, databases, analytics, ML/AI, security)
- Familiarity with cloud partner ecosystems and Professional Services capabilities
- Ability to connect customer business challenges to cloud-based solutions

Key job responsibilities
Account Strategy & Planning:
- Contribute sports industry perspective for assigned coverage accounts globally
- Partner with regional account teams to identify and map Line of Business (LOB) contacts and key stakeholders within sports organizations and technology providers
- Identify new opportunities across core sports areas

Opportunity Development & Execution:
- Drive sports opportunities with a focus on measurable business outcomes
- Collaborate with account teams and industry specialists to evangelize cloud services, partner solutions, and Professional Services tailored to sports use cases
- Participate in executive engagements with C-suite stakeholders
- Facilitate access to specialized cloud resources, solutions architects, and partner capabilities across global teams

Thought Leadership & Enablement:
- Conduct internal enablement sessions for global account teams and industry specialists on sports industry trends, use cases, and cloud solutions
- Lead external thought leadership sessions with customers and at global industry events
- Contribute to Go-to-Market packages for sports customers at scale, in collaboration with regional and global teams
- Share global market insights and success stories across the broader specialist community

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Align with regional account teams to ensure consistent coverage and coordinated engagement strategies
- Serve as a global sports subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to account teams across all regions
- Contribute to global planning cycles, pipeline reviews, and go-to-market initiatives

Global Market Development:
- Develop deep understanding of the sports regulatory and commercial landscape across key global markets
- Identify global trends, competitive dynamics, and market opportunities specific to sports
- Build partner ecosystem relationships with sports technology providers, data suppliers, and system integrators worldwide

About the team
You'll be part of the GIST (Geo Industry Specialist Team) within the broader Media, Entertainment & Games Strategy (MEGS) organization. The team operates with a strong focus on customer obsession and delivering results, guided by organizational tenets that emphasize measuring what matters, building diverse perspectives, and scaling bright spots. The team culture emphasizes going forward with the customer, fostering innovation through curiosity, and empowering high-velocity decisions.

You'll work closely with account teams, Solutions Architects, AWS Professional Services, and an extensive partner ecosystem. The team values #oneteam collaboration and operates with a builder mentality, focusing on strategic initiatives and helping customers achieve sustainable profitability through data-driven personalization.

You'll be part of a geographically distributed team that comes together regularly for strategy sessions, planning meetings, and collaborative workshops focused on driving customer success and business growth.
