At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are inventing the future of cloud computing with a team of builders who try new things and dream big dreams. Our web services provide a platform for IT infrastructure in the cloud that is used by hundreds of thousands of developers and businesses around the world.
We are seeking a German-speaking Solutions Architect to join the World Wide Public Sector (WWPS) Greenfield team based in London. In this role, you will help new-to-cloud public sector customers across the UK, Germany and International Organization. accelerate their cloud journey on AWS. You will serve as the primary technical point of contact for German-speaking public sector customers, conducting discovery sessions, designing foundational architectures, and building trusted relationships that drive long-term cloud adoption.
The Greenfield SA function focuses on proactive customer engagement: helping customers move beyond reactive technical needs toward strategic cloud adoption. You will partner closely with Account Executives across The UK and Germany territories to develop engagement strategies and deliver outcomes.

Key job responsibilities
• Serve as the technical point of contact for new-to-cloud public sector customers in the UK, Germany and international organizations, guiding them from first workload to production.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions in English and German to understand customer pain points and recommend AWS-based solutions.
• Partner with Account Executives on territory planning, account prioritization, and customer engagement strategies across the UK, Germany and international organizations.
• Design and present foundational cloud architectures aligned with customer business outcomes and public sector requirements in both markets.
• Build repeatable plays and enablement assets for common customer scenarios (cost optimization, compliance, legacy migration).
• Evangelize AWS technology through workshops, proof-of-concept engagements, and technical content in English and German.
• Navigate German public sector procurement and compliance requirements alongside EU and UK specific procurement frameworks.
• Contribute to the growth of the Greenfield SA organization through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and operational best practices.
• Share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap for new AWS features and services.

A day in the life
You partner with Account Executives to break into new public-sector accounts — translating agency missions into technical strategies that land first workloads on AWS. Your days blend research (understanding an agency's IT landscape, compliance posture, and modernization drivers) with hands-on engagement: leading technical discovery calls, whiteboarding architectures, building proof-of-concept demos, and crafting migration roadmaps that give prospects confidence to move forward. You help AEs navigate complex procurement cycles by articulating technical differentiators in RFI/RFP responses, and you coordinate with AWS service teams, partner SIs, and security specialists to assemble the right solution. You maintain technical win plans for your accounts, contribute to pipeline reviews with data-driven assessments, and stay current on AWS services so you can match emerging capabilities to customer problems. The role rewards curiosity, builder instincts, and the ability to earn trust fast with technical and executive audiences alike.

About the team
The WWPS Greenfield SA team accelerates cloud adoption for public sector customers who are new to AWS. We pair Solutions Architects with dedicated Account Executives across defined territories to create structured, proactive engagement models. Our SAs participate in a structured Greenfield Academy covering SA-AM engagement models, go-to-market strategy, discovery, and customer-facing best practices.

Where to Advertise Cloud Computing Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise cloud computing jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards and channels that reach AWS, Azure, GCP and cloud-native engineering talent. The candidate pool is large relative to other deep tech disciplines but highly segmented — cloud architects, DevOps engineers, platform engineers, FinOps specialists and cloud security professionals each occupy distinct communities with different job search behaviours, certification profiles and salary expectations. General job boards reach a broad audience but struggle to differentiate between these disciplines, producing high application volumes but low candidate quality for specialist cloud roles. This guide, published by CloudComputingJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise cloud computing roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Cloud Computing Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Cloud Computing Jobs UK 2026: salaries, hiring trends and the AWS, Azure and GCP skills shaping UK cloud careers over the next three years. Cloud computing is the infrastructure layer on which the modern digital economy runs — and the jobs market that has grown around it is one of the largest, most sustained, and most structurally resilient in the entire technology sector. But the cloud computing jobs market of 2026 looks quite different from the one that existed three years ago, and the next three years will bring further change at a pace that rewards those who understand the direction of travel. The migration phase that defined cloud hiring for much of the previous decade is largely complete for enterprise organisations. The question for most UK businesses is no longer whether to move to the cloud but how to operate, optimise, and secure what they have already built there — and how to integrate the wave of AI capability that is now being delivered primarily through cloud infrastructure. That shift has profound implications for which cloud skills are in demand, which roles are growing, and which are beginning to plateau. At the same time, new architectural patterns — multi-cloud, cloud-native, serverless, and the growing integration of edge computing with centralised cloud infrastructure — are creating entirely new categories of specialist expertise that employers are actively competing to hire. The cloud computing jobs market of 2026 is not contracting. It is evolving, and evolving in ways that create significant opportunity for job seekers who are building the right skills. This article breaks down what the UK cloud computing jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career ahead of the curve.
