Responsibilities include:

* Design and document infrastructure solutions that support business applications, data platforms, identity management, and end-user services.

* Champion cloud-first principles while supporting hybrid environments and the transition from legacy to modern infrastructure.

* Promote standardisation, automation, and reuse through infrastructure-as-code, platform templates, and scalable deployment patterns.

* Provide architectural oversight during implementation, ensuring that designs are realised effectively and with appropriate governance.

* Collaborate with service owners, IT operations, security teams, and third-party providers to align infrastructure with business needs.

* Contribute to the evolution of ICAEW's infrastructure strategy, including hosting models, lifecycle management, and automation standards.

Candidate Profile

Requirements include:

* Extensive experience in infrastructure architecture and design, particularly in Microsoft-centric environments.

* Strong understanding of hybrid cloud infrastructure, Azure services, and modern workplace technologies.

* Familiarity with security, resilience, and operational frameworks (e.g. ISO27001, NIST, ITIL).

* Experience in agile and traditional delivery models, with the ability to work across project and BAU contexts.

* Demonstrable experience delivering infrastructure change in complex, regulated environments.

* Deep knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Azure (IaaS, PaaS), Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Intune.

* A substantial suite of training and development
* Flexible working arrangements
* A generous benefits package which includes gym discounts, pension plan, season ticket travel loans and health and dental plans
We are a disability confident employer.

This guide, published by CloudComputingJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise cloud computing roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
