Senior Systems Engineer – Relocate to Bermuda

Build Your Career in Paradise

Fancy swapping grey skies, long commutes, and high UK tax for crystal-clear waters, year-round sunshine, and a genuinely exciting technical role?

Bermuda Microsystems, founded in 1993, is one of Bermuda’s most established and respected IT services providers. For over 30 years, we’ve delivered enterprise-grade infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and managed IT services to businesses across Bermuda.

We are growing, evolving, and investing heavily in our engineering capability.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to relocate to Bermuda and take on a genuinely hands-on, senior technical role with real ownership, broad exposure, and the chance to work across modern Microsoft cloud, infrastructure, networking, and security technologies.

And yes, Bermuda offers a highly attractive tax environment compared with the UK.

The Role

We are looking for a technically strong, commercially aware Senior Systems Engineer who enjoys solving problems, designing practical solutions, and taking ownership from concept through delivery.

This is not a narrow support role.

You will work across multiple customer environments, acting as a senior escalation point, technical lead, and trusted engineer across infrastructure, networking, Microsoft 365, Azure, and security-focused projects.

You will be expected to think independently, take ownership, and deliver outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting and maintaining customer IT environments across on-premises and cloud platforms

• Designing, implementing, and improving infrastructure solutions

• Taking ownership of networking including LAN, WAN, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and security

• Delivering Microsoft Azure solutions including virtual infrastructure and Azure Virtual Desktop

• Managing Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, Teams, and SharePoint

• Acting as a senior technical escalation point for complex incidents

• Leading infrastructure upgrades, migrations, cloud transformation projects, and security improvements

• Producing clear technical documentation

• Working directly with customers to understand requirements and provide recommendations

• Participating in an out-of-hours support rota when required

Technical Skills We’re Looking For

Strong experience in:

• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP

• VLANs, subnetting, routing, switching

• Firewall technologies and network troubleshooting

• Microsoft 365 administration

• Entra ID / Azure AD

• Exchange Online

• Microsoft Teams

• SharePoint Online

• Intune / endpoint management

• Microsoft Azure

• Virtual machines

• Virtual networking (VNets, NSGs)

• Hybrid identity

• Azure Virtual Desktop

Desirable:

• PowerShell / automation

• MSP experience

• Azure certifications

• Networking certifications such as CCNA

• Virtualisation experience

• Backup and disaster recovery exposure

About You

You are likely someone who:

• Has 5+ years of senior engineering experience

• Can take ownership of a problem and see it through properly

• Is calm under pressure

• Can communicate well with customers and colleagues

• Enjoys infrastructure, networking, cloud, and problem solving

• Likes variety rather than doing the same thing every day

• Takes pride in documentation and doing things properly

Why Bermuda Microsystems?

• Established business founded in 1993

• Strong technical reputation

• Exposure to varied technologies and complex environments

• Real opportunity to influence technical standards

• Cloud, security, networking, and infrastructure project work

• Genuine career progression

• Work somewhere people holiday

• Relocate to one of the most beautiful islands in the world

• Attractive tax environment compared with the UK

• Sunshine, ocean, boating, golf, diving, and an exceptional lifestyle

Where to Advertise Cloud Computing Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise cloud computing jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards and channels that reach AWS, Azure, GCP and cloud-native engineering talent. The candidate pool is large relative to other deep tech disciplines but highly segmented — cloud architects, DevOps engineers, platform engineers, FinOps specialists and cloud security professionals each occupy distinct communities with different job search behaviours, certification profiles and salary expectations. General job boards reach a broad audience but struggle to differentiate between these disciplines, producing high application volumes but low candidate quality for specialist cloud roles. This guide, published by CloudComputingJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise cloud computing roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Cloud Computing Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Cloud Computing Jobs UK 2026: salaries, hiring trends and the AWS, Azure and GCP skills shaping UK cloud careers over the next three years. Cloud computing is the infrastructure layer on which the modern digital economy runs — and the jobs market that has grown around it is one of the largest, most sustained, and most structurally resilient in the entire technology sector. But the cloud computing jobs market of 2026 looks quite different from the one that existed three years ago, and the next three years will bring further change at a pace that rewards those who understand the direction of travel. The migration phase that defined cloud hiring for much of the previous decade is largely complete for enterprise organisations. The question for most UK businesses is no longer whether to move to the cloud but how to operate, optimise, and secure what they have already built there — and how to integrate the wave of AI capability that is now being delivered primarily through cloud infrastructure. That shift has profound implications for which cloud skills are in demand, which roles are growing, and which are beginning to plateau. At the same time, new architectural patterns — multi-cloud, cloud-native, serverless, and the growing integration of edge computing with centralised cloud infrastructure — are creating entirely new categories of specialist expertise that employers are actively competing to hire. The cloud computing jobs market of 2026 is not contracting. It is evolving, and evolving in ways that create significant opportunity for job seekers who are building the right skills. This article breaks down what the UK cloud computing jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career ahead of the curve.
