Senior Platform Engineer – Sharepoint & Azure

£65,000–£75,000

Permanent – Hybrid (3 days on site)

VIQU have partnered with a leading global law firm seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join their Information Infrastructure team, working across SharePoint and Azure platforms within a complex enterprise environment. This role sits within a highly technical global estate supporting business-critical systems, where you will be responsible for ensuring platform stability, improving performance, and supporting the ongoing development and optimisation of core infrastructure services across SharePoint, Azure, SSO, SQL Server and web environments.

Senior Platform Engineer Requirements:

Strong experience administering SharePoint, web platforms, SSO and SQL Server environments

Proven background in SharePoint migrations, upgrades and performance optimisation

Knowledge of SQL Server HA/DR solutions (Always-On, clustering, replication, log shipping)

Experience with Azure PaaS services (App Services, Functions, Kubernetes, Azure SQL desirable)

Understanding of load balancing and web farm infrastructure (F5 BigIP desirable)

Ability to build environments, automate tasks and develop PowerShell scripts

Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement abilities

Senior Platform Engineer Responsibilities:

Provide third-line support across SharePoint, Azure, web, SSO and SQL Server environments

Manage and optimise global server and platform estates, ensuring high availability and performance

Design and maintain SharePoint farms, web infrastructure and Azure cloud services in line with best practice

Troubleshoot complex escalated incidents and deliver deep-dive technical resolution

Oversee deployments, upgrades, migrations and platform enhancements across enterprise systems

Support DR, load balancing and HA solutions across infrastructure services

Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to deliver continuous service improvements

Create documentation, automation scripts (PowerShell), and improve operational processes
