Senior Engineer | Leicester | Hybrid | £50,000-£60,000

About the Role:
We're partnering with a highly reputable company based just outside of Leicester to find a talented Network & Infrastructure Engineer. This is a hybrid position, offering 2 days from home after probation.

The Opportunity:
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be a vital part of the team, working on exciting projects and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of IT environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining server, network, and storage solutions for clients.
  • Providing 3rd line support, resolving complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Managing cloud and hybrid environments, including Azure.
  • Monitoring and maintaining infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Leading infrastructure migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
  • Documenting technical processes and configurations for clarity and compliance.
  • Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions.
About You

We're seeking aSenior Engineer with a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset, and a deep understanding of enterprise networking. You'll be comfortable operating in complex environments, troubleshooting critical issues, and working closely with clients and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience in aSenior Infrastructure Engineer or similar role within complex IT environments.
  • Advanced knowledge ofWindows Server operating systems and core infrastructure services.
  • Strong hands-on experience withvirtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Deep expertise in networking, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting of:
    • Firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or similar)
    • Routers and switches (Cisco preferred)
    • VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, and network security principles
  • Solid experience withcloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, including hybrid network integrations.
  • Experience implementing and supportingbackup and disaster recovery solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Ability todiagnose and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability toengage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMware) are highly desirable.
