As a Network Development Engineer (NDE) you will be responsible for building and operating the network infrastructure, you will learn all of the tools, services and components that the team relies upon to run the network. What you’ll be working on:

- Define technical direction and drive innovation for large-scale network infrastructure projects, leading strategic network programs across multiple domains including deployment/implementation, scaling, and optimization
- Design and implement network architectures from the ground up, establishing patterns and best practices for the organization
- Own and drive resolution of complex network challenges that impact strategic customers
- Develop and execute network automation strategy at scale, creating frameworks that enable team efficiency
- Lead multiple high-impact programs simultaneously for AWS's largest partners
- Establish and influence the technical roadmap for tools and utilities supporting AWS fleet services
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to develop engineering excellence within the team




Key job responsibilities
An NDE is responsible for ensuring all network fabrics and devices are operating as expected. An NDE will utilise their networking skills along with available tools and services to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that have not been remediated through automation and to identify the root cause. They are expected to invent, refine and develop new automation and tools to reduce manual operations and fulfil the requirements of the business and customers.

About the team
The Network Development team drives engineering, implementation, scalability, operations, reliability, and sustainability for all of the network fabrics that underpin the software services and platforms used within an AWS isolated region.
