Senior Linux Engineer
Hybrid (near Haywards Heath, West Sussex)
~£75,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Join a next‑generation data centre and HPC organisation, working with cutting‑edge Linux infrastructure. This hands‑on senior role suits an experienced Linux Engineer who wants to own complex systems, shape new technology, and occasionally step up as Deputy Lead.

The Role

Deliver Linux‑based projects end‑to‑end: scope, proof‑of‑concept, implementation, and optimisation.

Provide 3rd‑line (expert‑level) support across high‑performance and virtualised environments.

Research and integrate new technologies - including GPU compute, automation, and immersion cooling.

Lead stand‑ups and updates when deputising for leadership, ensuring clear stakeholder communication.

Mentor and collaborate with a technically strong, close‑knit team.

About You

Solid Linux administration and engineering skills (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).

Experience across HPC, clustering, or complex multi‑node systems.

Skills with Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, and scripting (Bash/Python).

Confident communicator; able to present, lead discussions, and drive improvements.

Ready to step into a leadership/deputy position while remaining hands‑on technically.
