Are you a
Senior Full Stack Kotlin Developer looking for the opportunity to work on complex, meaningful digital transformation projects?
We're looking for an experienced engineer to join a growing digital consultancy, working with a range of public and private sector clients to design and deliver
secure, scalable and user-centred digital services.
You'll work as part of multidisciplinary teams alongside engineers, architects, designers, product managers, analysts and delivery professionals. As a senior member of the engineering community, you'll lead by example, champion technical excellence and support the development of more junior engineers.
The RoleYou'll be responsible for designing, developing and deploying high-quality digital solutions, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the full software development lifecycle.
You'll:
- Lead the development ofuser-centred, production-ready software
- Design and build robust, scalable backend services usingKotlin, Java and Spring Boot
- Develop and integrateRESTful APIs and microservices
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex client problems
- Take ownership of development and deployment pipelines
- Work across cloud environments and modern DevOps practices
- Communicate technical solutions, prototypes and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Help identify and resolve technical issues and delivery bottlenecks
- Mentor and coach other engineers, helping to raise engineering standards across the team
What We're Looking ForYou should have strong, hands-on experience across modern JVM-based software development, with
Kotlin at the heart of your recent experience.
Essential- Solid, current experience developing inKotlin and the JVM ecosystem
- StrongJava development background
- Extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle
- Strong experience withSpring Boot and the wider Spring Framework
- Experience designing and developingmicroservices and RESTful APIs
- Experience delivering robust, scalable and high-quality digital solutions
- Strong understanding ofpublic cloud platforms, ideally AWS, Azure and/or GCP
- Experience withDocker and Kubernetes
- Experience withInfrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
- Strong understanding ofCI/CD and DevOps practices, using tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
DesirableExperience with frontend or full-stack technologies such as:
- Node.js
- TypeScript
- Express.js
- Nunjucks
A consulting background would be advantageous, particularly if you have experience working directly with clients, but strong engineers from industry backgrounds will also be considered.
Experience
mentoring or coaching other developers would also be highly desirable, particularly for candidates operating at the top end of the salary range.
