Senior AWS DevOps Engineer -Fully remote (UK)

£75,000 to £85,000 plus bonus & benefits

We are looking for a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to join a fast-growing B2B technology business, who are investing heavily to grow their Engineering function. This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role for someone who can hit the ground running and set the pace from day one.

Working alongside a small, cross-functional Engineering team, you will look after the cloud platform behind one of their key, customer-facing products, used by business customers around the world. There is no long bedding-in period. You will own the infrastructure from the start, from how it is designed and provisioned through to how it is monitored and kept running in production.

On a typical day, you will be building out AWS environments in Terraform, improving the pipelines developers use to get changes live, running containerised services and tightening monitoring and alerting so problems are caught early. You will also take your turn on call, get to the bottom of incidents when they happen and automate the manual jobs that slow the team down, and you will see the platform grow as more customers come on board.

As our ideal candidate, you will have around five years or more working in DevOps, SRE or platform infrastructure, most of it hands-on in AWS and at a level where you are trusted to make the calls without supervision, with strong computer science fundamentals and some experience of distributed systems. Infrastructure defined in Terraform or CloudFormation, CI/CD built with Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, Docker in production, monitoring with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana or CloudWatch, API security and authentication (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys), Cloudflare, and time on an on-call rota in an Agile team.

Whilst this role leans towards infrastructure and operations, Kubernetes, scripting in Python or Bash, some Go, event-driven architecture, Postgres tuning, or a SaaS background is highly advantageous.
