Are you an experienced Network Engineer with deep expertise in VMware NSX?

We’re looking for a highly skilled Lead NSX Engineer to join a cutting-edge programme within the Aerospace, Defence & Security sector. This role offers the opportunity to work on secure government projects, leveraging advanced technologies to solve complex, real-world challenges.

You’ll act as the technical authority for all things NSX, leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of network architectures within hyperconverged infrastructure environments.

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for DV clearance (active clearance is highly desirable).

This role is onsite in Farnborough, 5 days a week.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead deployment and configuration of VMware NSX-T components, including:

Logical networking

Distributed firewall

Load balancing

VPN services

Deliver advanced network virtualisation and micro-segmentation strategies

Ensure high availability, performance optimisation, and security across network services

Design and maintain identity and access management solutions aligned to tiered models

Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and automation teams to deliver integrated solutions

What You’ll Bring

Strong hands-on experience with:

VMware NSX-T

VMware AVI Load Balancers

Cisco secure networking expertise

Experience working in Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) environments

Proven ability to design and implement scalable network architectures

Strong understanding of identity and tiered access models

Experience in highly automated environments

Desirable Skills

Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN)

Network monitoring and management tools

Security best practices and secure design principles

Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)
