Salary: £66,000 - £77,000 (including allowances)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Business Area: DDaT - Technology A fantastic new, unique opportunity has become available for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join a growing Platform Engineering group during their digital transformation journey. This role is ideal for someone passionate about using their technical skills to enhance team effectiveness and expedite software delivery, ensuring high stability and speed.

Day-to-day of the role:

Provide hands-on technical leadership, offering coaching and mentoring to enhance team capabilities.

Lead the sharing of knowledge and good practices within the team.

Act as a technical product owner, developing strategies for product lines and managing DevOps engineers.

Lead DevOps expertise and decision-making across the entire software delivery lifecycle.

Produce and assure DevOps technical designs, providing justifications for technical decisions.

Enable the reuse of patterns, tools, and components across various projects.

Provide deep DevOps technical expertise to project delivery teams.

Play a key role in the DevOps Community of Practice by sharing expertise to build overall team capability.

Assure that DevOps technical solutions adhere to all agreed processes and best practices, especially around security and governance.

Mentor DevOps Engineers, supporting their professional development and guiding them in critical decision-making.

Lead on developing, implementing, enhancing, and managing technical DevOps practices.

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions align with target architectures and technology roadmaps.Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong understanding of DevOps principles with experience in a DevOps or iterative development culture.

Proven experience in implementing CI/CD processes and tools, including pipeline design and administration.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.

Experience deploying to and consuming cloud platform resources, with a preference for Microsoft Azure.

Substantial experience in administration and configuration of Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD orchestration tools.

Proficiency in Python, .Net Core/C#, NextJs/Node frontend, and scripting in Python/Bash/PowerShell.

Experience with containerisation technologies and platforms such as Docker and AKS.

Strong communication skills with experience in knowledge sharing and mentoring.

Ability to manage and support distributed source code repositories including Git.Benefits:
