Lead DevOps Engineer (REMOTE)

We are exclusively partnering with a global consultancy who are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to build a DevOps function from scratch.

This is a rare opportunity to define the DevOps strategy, establish standards, and create the tooling, processes, and governance needed to support secure and scalable cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Previous experience in building a DevOps function from the ground up is essential.
• Set DevOps standards, policies, and governance
• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Power Platform, Fabric)
• Drive Infrastructure as Code and automation (Azure/Terraform/Bicep)
• Improve release, deployment, and environment management
• Own monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response
• Support secure access and identity (Entra ID)
• Work with engineering teams to take solutions into live production
• Champion DevOps culture and continuous improvement

Skills and Experience

• Experience building or leading a DevOps function is essential
• Strong Azure experience (plus M365, Power Platform, Fabric)
• Hands-on CI/CD with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform or Bicep)
• Experience supporting production systems and incident management
• Understanding of cloud security and governance
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills
