Backend Specialist (Java & Kotlin)

Location: London (Hybrid: 2-3 days per week)

Type: Full-time / Permanent

Experience: 5-7 years

We are seeking a high-caliber Backend Specialist with a strong foundation in Java and Kotlin to join our development team in London. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and scaling robust Microservices using the Spring Boot ecosystem.

The Role

You will take full ownership of the software development lifecycle, from initial concept to deployment. You'll be tasked with building efficient, maintainable backend solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance features.

Key Responsibilities

Develop & Maintain: Build robust applications using Java and Kotlin within a Spring Boot environment.

Architect: Design and implement scalable Microservices architectures.

Collaborate: Work with Project Leads, BAs, and DevOps to translate requirements into technical solutions and manage CI/CD pipelines.

Quality Assurance: Write clean code, perform unit/integration testing, and participate in peer code reviews.

Mentor: Guide junior developers and uphold high engineering standards across the team.

Technical Requirements

5-7 years of professional experience in backend development.

Expertise in Java and Kotlin.

Deep understanding of Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.

Proven experience building and deploying Microservices.

Strong skills in developing RESTful APIs and troubleshooting complex production issues.
