Join a small engineering-led team delivering secure software and data capabilities into some of the UK's most sensitive National Security environments.

You'll design and develop Java-based backend services, APIs and distributed systems that support mission-critical applications, operational platforms and large-scale data processing. Working across modern microservices architectures, you'll contribute to technical design, secure software delivery, automation and system reliability.

Tech Stack: Java 11+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.

This role offers broader technical exposure, greater ownership and closer collaboration than is often found within larger delivery organisations. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams solving complex engineering challenges across secure, high-side environments.

We're looking for:

• Strong Java backend development experience
• Microservices and distributed systems expertise
• Knowledge of software architecture and secure development
• Experience working within modern DevSecOps environments

Location: Gloucester, London or Manchester (4 days onsite)

Clearance: Current Enhanced DV required
