Senior IT Project Manager

We are working with a well-established Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Bromley who are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join their Project Management Office.

This role is initially a 3 month fixed term contract to cover a period of sabbatical, with a possibility of becoming permanent.

This is an excellent opportunity for an IT Project Manager with MSP experience who enjoys delivering a varied portfolio of projects such as cloud migrations, customer onboarding and infrastructure refreshes.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning, executing and closing IT projects for a range of clients, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, quality, budget and timescales.

Reporting into the Head of Projects / PMO, you’ll work closely with technical teams, account managers and customers to ensure successful outcomes across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and document project scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria in collaboration with customers and stakeholders

  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets and resource plans

  • Coordinate and manage project activities, tasks and dependencies to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery

  • Provide clear and regular project status updates to customers, stakeholders, vendors and internal teams

  • Identify, manage and mitigate project risks, issues, and changes, escalating where required

  • Ensure project deliverables meet customer expectations and align with internal standards and procedures

  • Conduct project reviews, lessons learned and post-implementation feedback sessions

  • Build strong working relationships with customers and account managers to help develop and manage a forward pipeline of projects

  • Initiate projects from inception, aligning delivery with business objectives

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO processes, reporting and best practices

    Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT Project Management, ideally within an MSP or IT consultancy environment

  • Proven experience delivering IT projects such as:

    • Cloud migrations (Azure / Microsoft 365)

    • Onboarding new customers

    • Infrastructure upgrades and swap-outs

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Cloud and on-premise infrastructure

    • IT software, support and service delivery within a busy MSP

  • Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar)

  • Cloud certification such as Azure Fundamentals or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals

  • Solid understanding of IT cyber security, audit and compliance

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, non-technical language

  • Confident facilitating workshops, demonstrations and whiteboarding sessions

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills

  • Customer-focused, results-driven mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude
