We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking DevSecOps Engineer to take a key leadership role in automating and enhancing our development pipelines, which support our on‑premise Docker and Kubernetes infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to shape our secure software development lifecycle, drive automation, and influence best practices across development, operations, and security functions.

You will work closely with the Head of IT, CISO and cross‑functional technical teams, contributing to strategic initiatives, implementing secure and scalable infrastructure, and ensuring streamlined, reliable deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide technical leadership and expertise in DevSecOps practices.

* Automate release deployments across multiple stacks and environments.

* Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo CD).

* Build, manage, and enhance Kubernetes clusters and associated tooling.

* Develop automation scripts (Python or Go) to support system administration and operational tasks.

* Monitor and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.

* Implement secure coding practices, threat modelling, and automated security testing within pipelines.

* Manage configuration, dependencies, environment up‑time, and deployment scheduling.

* Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

* Support vulnerability management and remediation across key environments.

* Contribute to disaster recovery and high‑availability infrastructure design.

* Collaborate with the Infrastructure team on ITIL processes and tooling.

* Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

* Strong background in DevSecOps, infrastructure automation, and release management.

* Hands‑on Kubernetes experience, including security, integrations, and cluster management.

* Proven experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo CD).

* Experience with blue/green deployment strategies.

* Strong scripting/programming skills in Python or Go.

* Excellent understanding of modern infrastructure, system administration, and microservices environments.

* Experience managing environments, deployments, and configurations at scale.

* Experience resolving vulnerabilities and implementing secure-by-design principles.

* Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

* Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.

Desirable Skills

* Experience with GitLab.

* AWS Cloud exposure.

* Relevant technical certifications.

* Experience managing cloud assets, cost optimisation, and cloud sprawl reduction.

* ITIL experience
