ROLE DESCRIPTION

Brio Digital are supporting a consultancy delivering a major NHS digital programme and are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join the team. The post holder will design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud-based solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-availability applications and automated deployment pipelines in line with security and performance best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure

Design and implement scalable cloud-based solutions using AWS services

Deploy and manage AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and associated tooling

Optimise cloud architecture for maximum efficiency, resilience, and performance

Build and maintain highly available, highly performant applications at scale

CI/CD & Automation

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment using GitHub Actions

Build and manage AWS Lambda functions and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across the cloud infrastructure

Security & Governance

Ensure security best practices are applied consistently across all cloud systems

Contribute to security reviews and remediation of identified risks

Collaboration & Delivery

Work within an Agile delivery environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams

Define, design, and deliver new features in partnership with product and engineering teams

Strong Python development skills applied across automation, tooling, and backend services

DESIRABLE SKILLS

Knowledge of Apigee API management

Knowledge of FHIR and HL7 healthcare data standards

React front-end development experience
