+SC cleared role - sole British nationals only due to nature of the project

+Fully remote working

CBSbutler are supporting a large organisation delivering a critical UK public sector programme and are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer / DevOps SME to strengthen platform delivery, automation and secure release capability.

What you'll be doing

Designing and improving CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, repeatable deployments

Implementing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automated environment provisioning

Supporting containerised platforms and orchestration to improve scalability and resilience

Embedding security and compliance controls into engineering workflows (DevSecOps)

Driving observability improvements across monitoring, logging and alerting

Advising engineering teams on DevOps best practice and helping remove delivery bottlenecks

Essential experience

Typically 5-10+ years in DevOps / systems engineering / software engineering

Strong hands-on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)

Containers & orchestration: Docker + Kubernetes

Cloud platform depth: AWS / Azure / GCP (networking, compute, storage, security)

CI/CD tooling: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, CircleCI (or similar)

Monitoring & logging: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack (or equivalent)

DevSecOps: integrating security into pipelines and delivery (e.g., SonarQube, Snyk, OWASP practices)
