Our client, a leading technology-driven Financial Services company, is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join their team. Specialising in fixed income securities, they have built a reputation for innovation, performance, and a highly collaborative culture.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in designing, customising, and deploying scalable DevOps solutions across a sophisticated infrastructure landscape.

The Role

You will be instrumental in building and enhancing DevOps capabilities, working across data platforms, orchestration frameworks, infrastructure automation, and cybersecurity. The position suits someone with a strong engineering mindset who thrives in high-performance environments and is passionate about scalability, resilience, and secure systems design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and customise DevOps tools, leveraging open-source technologies and programming languages such as Java, Python, and/or Go
  • Manage, optimise, and secure diverse data stores, including object storage, inverted index systems, and relational databases
  • Deploy and maintain distributed querying engines across multiple data platforms
  • Design and extend orchestration frameworks, including DAG-based workflows and containerised environments
  • Configure and manage dynamic container systems across OS and application layers
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to map and manage physical and virtual resources
  • Enforce robust data governance practices, including encryption and data classification strategies
  • Build and maintain reliable backup and archival solutions across on-premise and cloud environments
  • Establish and manage configuration and asset management systems

Key Requirements

  • Strong software engineering background with experience in DevOps tooling and automation
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, Java, or Go
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and modern DevOps ecosystems
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, data platforms, and orchestration tools
  • Strong focus on security, scalability, and system reliability
  • Experience working with containerisation and cloud/on-prem hybrid environments
