AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS Data Centre’s and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Are you an experienced security professional who knows what good looks like and wants to lead projects that raise the bar? This role puts your operational expertise and project leadership to work at scale.

We are looking for a Data Centre Security Manager (DCSM) to join our team and oversee security excellence. The DCSM is responsible for the physical security of each site in the Cluster, providing on-site direction, consistency, and guidance to Security Officers and on-site customers to ensure proper execution and enforcement of security policies and procedures.

You will partner with stakeholders to review security related documentation and help them understand how physical security standards and policies apply to their real-world environment.
This role requires a professional who can draw on operational knowledge to lead projects, identify security gaps, develop practical and effective documentation, and drive solutions that continuously raise our security bar.
You will drive consistency, compliance, and operational excellence through best-practice standards and security system evaluation.

The right person for this role will;
- Develop and review new technology and security measures, enhancing the security posture of our sites.
- Lead projects that raise the security bar or address identified security risks — from technology gaps to operational shortfalls.
- Apply your security operations expertise to create policies and standards and process documentation across multiple high-security sites.
- Identify where current equipment or processes are not fit for purpose and lead initiatives to evaluate and implement new technology or solutions.
- Ensure documentation reflects best practice grounded in real on-site operations — not just theory.
- Build governance frameworks that keep security documentation current, approved, and aligned with global updates whilst remaining practical for on-site operations.
- Continuously raise the security bar by identifying gaps, inefficiencies, emerging risks, and opportunities for development through the documentation and projects you own.
- Be the authority on documentation standards within a growing infrastructure security organisation — combining operational credibility with process discipline.

If you have the security background to know what works in practice, the leadership skills to drive cross-functional projects, and the rigour to turn it all into scalable, consistent standards, we want to hear from you.

- Lead projects that raise the bar or mitigate identified security risks, including technology upgrades, process improvements, and operational gap analysis.
- Identify where current security equipment is not fit for purpose or leads to operational gaps, and lead initiatives to evaluate, and implement suitable enhancements.
- Audit existing documentation identifying inconsistencies, gaps, and areas where it does not reflect best practice.
- Consolidate and standardise security documentation into a single unified format, ensuring they are operationally sound, practical, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate technology and security measures for application to existing processes, enhancing the security posture of sites.
- Establish a documentation governance framework including review cycles, ownership models, approval workflows, and version control.
- Act as the documentation lead when new processes or changes are introduced using your security experience to challenge and validate proposals.
- Drive continuous improvement by bench-marking documentation against industry and company best practice, identifying opportunities to raise standards.
- Support colleagues within the team on operational matters and security incidents.

A day in the life
No day is the same - you’re reducing risk and raising standards;
- Conducting site walks to identify inconsistencies, and areas we can raise the security bar.
- Auditing documentation flagged for inconsistency — using your experience to spot what works and what doesn’t.
- Join stand-ups to shape documentation and challenging proposals that won’t work on the ground.
- Lead cross-work stream projects where procedures or technology creates operational gaps.
- Draft documentation with DCSMs and the Guard Force.
- Review governance trackers to keep version control tight and documents accurate.

Your stakeholders are; DCSMs, Assurance, site operational teams and leadership.

About the team
You will be joining a small team of Physical Security experts that manage Data Centre security and incidents across the region. Our mission is to safeguard critical infrastructure through robust physical security operations, intelligent risk management, and relentless pursuit of operational excellence.

Our culture is built on ownership, curiosity, and insisting on the highest standards. We dive deep into problems, think big about what security excellence looks like, and deliver results that matter. We value experienced builders who bring operational credibility, challenge the status quo, and care about getting the details right.
