Your Company:
A growing, technology-driven organisation is partnering with NET Recruit to appoint aCloud Infrastructure & Migration Specialist on a contract or project basis for two months.
This forward-thinking business operates a range of business-critical systems across finance, EPOS and network infrastructure environments and is undertaking a significant cloud transformation project to modernise and enhance its IT operations. With a focus on resilience, security and operational efficiency, the organisation is seeking an experienced infrastructure professional to lead the successful migration of its on-premise server estate into a secure and scalable cloud-hosted environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong cloud specialist to play a pivotal role in a high-impact infrastructure project, taking ownership of the migration process from initial assessment and solution design through to deployment, optimisation and knowledge transfer.

Your Role and Responsibilities:
While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Assessing the existing on-premise infrastructure environment and reviewing current systems, applications and operational dependencies
  • Designing and implementing a suitable cloud-hosted infrastructure solution using Microsoft Azure, AWS or an equivalent platform
  • Leading the migration of business-critical finance systems, EPOS platforms and file server environments into hosted virtual machine infrastructure
  • Configuring and managing Windows Server virtual environments to support operational requirements
  • Designing and securing cloud networking environments, including firewalls, remote access solutions and public IP configurations
  • Implementing robust backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions to ensure system resilience and data protection
  • Managing Remote Desktop Services (RDS) environments to support a large multi-user infrastructure
  • Ensuring compliance with Microsoft and SQL Server licensing requirements across the hosted environment
  • Coordinating with third-party vendors and software providers to confirm compatibility, supportability and migration requirements
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure, networking and migration-related issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Minimising operational disruption and downtime during migration and deployment activities
  • Producing comprehensive technical documentation, migration plans and knowledge transfer materials
  • Providing technical guidance and recommendations regarding infrastructure optimisation, scalability and long-term supportability
What You Will Need To Apply:
  • Proven experience delivering successful server-to-cloud migration projects within complex business environments
  • Strong technical expertise across Microsoft Azure infrastructure services and cloud-hosted virtual environments
  • Experience administering Windows Server environments and virtualisation technologies
  • Strong understanding of Remote Desktop Services (RDS) deployment and management
  • Experience managing SQL Server environments and associated licensing requirements
  • Knowledge of virtual firewall technologies, ideally including FortiGate solutions
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, backup and disaster recovery best practices
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, networking and migration issues
  • Experience working with business-critical systems and minimising operational downtime during migrations
  • Strong project delivery, organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and manage project priorities within a fast-paced environment
