Cloud Platform Engineer (GCP)

Location: Glasgow, Scotland 5 days onsite

Contract Type: 12 - months contract

Daily Rate: ££292.56 Paye/ £388.20 umbrella per day

Holiday Entitlement: 33 days


The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join a high-performing Software Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to design, build, test, and deploy scalable cloud application solutions that seamlessly integrate cloud and on-premise infrastructure.

You will play a key role in shaping cloud architecture decisions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and system performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy secure and scalable cloud-based solutions.
  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure and platform environments.
  • Develop proof-of-architecture solutions to validate security, scalability, and performance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, supporting technical decision-making and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
  • Conduct regular reviews of cloud architecture to identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Google App Engine (GAE).
  • Strong expertise in Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Platform Architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Storage.
  • Working knowledge of Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
  • Proven ability to work across multiple teams and contribute to key architectural decisions.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.
